Wisconsin Hyperbaric Center- Detoxifying Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
Every year thousands of die knowingly or unknowingly by inhaling carbon monoxide. The odorless and colorless gas has the potency to take lives. Despite of awareness programs there are people who die each year because of inhalation of such poisonous gas. CO generally has the affinity to bond with hemoglobin which is greater by 200 times the strength of oxygen to do the same. As a result of which the tissues are less exposed to oxygen. Today Wisconsin Hyperbaric Center offer HBOT treatments to cure carbon monoxide poisoning.
Through hyperbaric oxygen therapy CO is replaced by O2. Inside the hyperbaric chamber, the victim is exposed to 100% pure oxygen and the treatment only takes around 32 minutes to completely wash the poison off the body. Moreover, HBOT also helps restore cytochrome oxydase. The neurologic sequelae are also prevented through oxygenation. The sooner the individual is treated is with HBOT the better are its effects.
